Dual-core is old now. Welcome Quad-core. It is said that Quad-core smartphones with high resolution screens and graphics will take over in 2012 – nVidia Tegra 3 and Qualcomm Snapdragon are battling out for the fastest quad processor in the mobile market.Chip maker Nvidia says that smartphones featuring its quad-core Tegra 3 processors may arrive in the first half of 2012. Meanwhile, Qualcomm indicates that its quad-core Snapdragon will make its appearance in Windows 8 tablets in the second half of 2012.
Some of the features that a quad-core smartphone would offer are:
- Advanced video and photo edition
- Multi-tab web browsing
- High-end graphics games
- Improved voice control and “air” gestures
- Better multitasking
